Management Team
James M. McCormick—Chief Executive Officer
Jim McCormick is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vertek. Known for his collaborative, results-oriented management style, Jim has led Vertek Corporation throughout its history. Jim's ability to create a culture that combines technical and business expertise with personal integrity and accountability has permitted Vertek to thrive in a very dynamic marketplace.
Jim's unique approach won him the New Jersey 2000 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Prior to founding Vertek in 1988, Jim was a member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories. Jim has been on the board of directors of Synchronoss Technologies since it was spun out from Vertek in 2000. He has a Master of Science in Computer Science from UC-Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Vermont.
Brad Soutiere—President and Chief Operating Officer
Brad Soutiere joined Vertek in 1999 and has been involved in all aspects of the business including operations, sales and service delivery. Prior to being named President, Brad served as the Chief Operations Officer for the company. Brad has a strong focus, vision, and commitment to the customer and will continue to broaden and expand Vertek’s great reputation and service offering in the telecommunications industry.
Brad graduated from Trinity College with a degree in business. He has over 25 years experience in the finance and telecommunications industry. His experience includes software development, operations management and product development. Prior to Vertek, Soutiere worked for Alltel Corporation for 10 years as Manager of Operations providing outsourced telecommunications and data center services.
Al Brisard—Vice President, Marketing and Business Development
Al Brisard is responsible for the marketing and business development to support the strategic direction of the Vertek’s suite of offerings. Al brings to Vertek over 20 years of experience in the voice and data communications industries with a strong emphasis in bringing new technologies, product offerings, and business models to market.
Al has served in executive/senior roles at industry transforming companies including Pingtel, MCK Communications, 3Com, and Compaq Computer. He also held senior operations, marketing and business development roles at NYNEX
Al earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and a MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management.
Dan Kelly— Vice President, Software Development
Dan is an accomplished technology leader in the telecommunications industry and brings more than fifteen years of experience in telecommunications and product development to Vertek. He has an extensive background managing large scale software architecture and development. Prior to Vertek, Dan was Chief Software Architect for LiveProcess, a national leader in healthcare emergency management. Dan has also served as Chief Architect and Director of Engineering for Avotus, a global telecom expense management company.
Dan earned a BS in Management Information Systems from Seton Hall University, graduating with high honors. He received Department Excellence Award for graduating first in his department. Dan returned to Seton Hall in 2003 to earn an MBA in Finance.
