Careers: JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Vertek Corporation, a leading provider of telecommunications services located in Colchester, Vermont is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our growing Software Development team.

The Junior Software Developer will support our existing products and serve in both a development (50%) and QA (50%) role. The ideal candidate will have full/hands-on SDLC experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting n-tier, web-based applications.

Required Skills:

  • ASP.NET (v3.5+), HTML, JavaScript, AJAX
  • ADO.NET
  • SQL Server 2005+, views, stored procedures
  • Relational Database design knowledge
  • Understanding of OOA/D software development principles

Desired Skills:

  • Software QA - including formal test case and script creation/execution
  • Unit-testing frameworks (NUnit, JUnit)
  • Continuous Integration environments (CruiseControl, TeamCity)
  • Sharepoint Web Part development
  • Business Objects report development
  • Java

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or closely related field
  • Microsoft certifications (MCTS or MCPD) are a plus

The position is based in Vermont, the Green Mountain State, known for its high quality of life, safe environment for children, good school systems, and plenty of outdoor activities centered around the sixth largest lake in the country, many ski areas, and hiking and biking trails, all in a beautiful area of New England.
